Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department

Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department is an attached department of the Ministry of National Food Security and Research with its headquarters at Islamabad and 27 Field Offices/Laboratories throughout Pakistan. FSC&RD is a third party department with the mandate to regulate quality of seeds of various crops under the legal provisions of the Seed Act 1976, Seed (Amendment) Act, 2015 and the related rules and regulations . FSC&RD also acts as executive arm of the National Seed Council.

Seed Dealers Training
According to Seed Act, 1976 and Seed Amendment Act, 2015 registration of seed dealers is compulsory. Federal Seed Certification and Registration Department in this regard is organizing seed dealers’ trainings in all field stations including FSC&RD head quarters Islamabad.

NEW SEED RULES HAVE BEEN FORMULATED AND SENT TO LAW AND JUSTICE DIVISION FOR VETTING.
Ministry of National Food Security and Research has finalized draft seed rules in consultation with provincial governments and line ministries at federal level. New seed rules have been sent to the Law and Justice division for further vetting.
